Ceres Technologies selected for upgrade program with top Northeast US company to retrofit significant fleet of legacy subfab equipment

Maintaining reliable operation of legacy gas delivery equipment has become an increasing priority as semiconductor manufacturers balance uptime, cost, and facility constraints.

Ceres Technologies will modernize over a dozen legacy gas delivery systems. Due to their age, the analog circuit boards on these product lines have begun to decline, causing a supportability risk for a major semiconductor player. Ceres’ field service team, who specialize in upgrades, commissioning, and troubleshooting have taken on this endeavor to retrofit a large portion of this company’s subfab.

Ceres’ expert software engineers have designed PLC upgrades that are compatible with the existing equipment and enable ongoing communication other fab equipment. These PLC upgrades will ensure may more years of reliable service without increasing the footprint of the equipment, as is the case for most Ceres field upgrades. The full installation is set to be completed by the end of 2026.
